AMD makes available the Ryzen PRO 5000 Series Mobile Processor, which it describes as a groundbreaking improvement for new enterprise-class mobile notebook computers. The new CPUs are created using 7nm technology.

This new series of CPUs is paired with AMD PRO technologies, a series of multi-layer security features and productivity enhancements. The company says its new AMD Memory Guard, exclusive to this new CPU series, is automatically enabled on Microsoft Secured-Core PCs. Memory Guard helps enable data and identity protection. AMD Shadow Stack helps provide hardware-enabled protection against malware.

AMD expects broad availability of new enterprise-class mobile computers from HP and Lenovo, among others, starting in 2Q21.

The company says AMD Pro management utilities are a complete set of utilities for enterprise deployment, imaging and management compatible with modern IT infrastructures. All Ryzen PRO CPUs also fully support Microsoft Endpoint Manager, which it says delivers a “flexible and integrated cloud management solution.”

“The need for powerful, secure PCs that prioritize productivity and collaboration is more crucial than ever as we continue to embrace a more distributed and hybrid workforce,” says Andy Rhodes, global head, Commercial Systems and Display Solutions for HP.

“At Lenovo, we have a long tradition of providing our enterprise customers with innovative systems that deliver excellent performance and security. We are pleased to continue delivering on this promise with new laptops powered by the latest AMD mobile processors,” says Jerry Paradise, vice president, Global Commercial Portfolio & Product Management, Lenovo PCSD. “The latest Lenovo ThinkPad laptop lineup with AMD Ryzen PRO 5000 Series Mobile Processors will continue to deliver the incredible performance our business customers have come to expect from Lenovo and AMD.”

Mobile computers, including thin-and-light models suitable for enterprise deployment, will come to market in the second quarter of 2021.
