Join the 4th Industrial Revolution with Additive Manufacturing
Learn how to optimize part selection and design for additive manufacturing at the Design & Simulation Summit on Oct. 31.
October 30, 2024
Additive manufacturing (AM) processes have unlocked new approaches to part and component design, but users often struggle with determining what products can successfully be printed, what materials to use, and how to optimize those designs for efficiency and quality in order to take full advantage of the technology’s potential.
At the virtual Design & Simulation Summit on Oct. 31, Bob English, founder and CEO of third-party manufacturing specialist Valiant Products, will explain how Valiant is working with customers to optimize design for additive manufacturing.
In the session titled “Join the 4th Industrial Revolution with Additive Manufacturing,” English will explore and explain the technology, part designs, and materials used in additive manufacturing. Attendees will learn about printed parts with complex geometries that can make them incredibly strong yet lightweight. English will also discuss how pre-print software simplifies the AM workflow with a comprehensive solution to design the part, customize parameters, simulate thermomechanical behaviors, and highlight issues related to temperature, stress, and distortion.
Valiant Products has been manufacturing metal parts for the medical, transportation, energy, defense, and aerospace industries for over 45 years. Two years ago, Valiant invested in AM with the purchase of 3D metal and polymer printers in order to produce qualified AM parts for the aerospace and defense industries that will reduce part counts, lead time, and cost.
The Design & Simulation Summit kicks off on Oct. 31 with a live panel discussion about the use of artificial intelligence in simulation and design. Other sessions will cover configuring a workstation for design and simulation; digital twin case studies; and making the business case for simulation-led design.
